Residents at Summergil House Tell Inspectors Their Home is ‘The Best’

Residents at Summergil House, Orbis’s school and home in Presteigne, ‘have a voice’ and ‘are supported to be as healthy as they can be and to achieve to their potential’, the latest Care Inspectorate Wales inspection has found.

Summergil won praise for its ‘person-centred approach’ and for making use of the site’s extensive grounds to carry out stimulating activities like gardening, bush-craft and caring for chickens and rabbits, to support the ‘learning, development and physical health’ of its residents. Registered Manager, Matt Dobbs said: ‘To have this hard work and dedication formally recognised by Care Inspectorate Wales is an absolute delight to the team here at Summergil House’.

Summergil House is home to up to 18 children with needs associated with autism located in 18 acres of fields and woodlands.

Our amazing team here are dedicated to making sure our children lead a happy and fulfilling life during their time at Summergil House. We work in a beautiful environment with an amazing team. We have a collective commitment to ensuring all of those within our care feel supported and empowered to express themselves as individuals.
