Orbis Schools Make it Through to the UK Education Today Awards Finals
We are delighted to announce that two of our schools will be representing Orbis Education and Care at the 2025 Education Awards.
The awards, which take place at Park Plaza Riverbank in London, recognises and honours those making exceptional contributions in the field of education.
Dan y Coed has been nominated for the Independent School of the Year award following its excellent inspection report earlier this year, where the school obtained three spotlights, which is the most any independent school has achieved in Wales this year. The spotlights highlighted its commitment to supporting the wider community including initiatives such as helping St Fagans National Museum of History use communication strategies to support all people with educational needs to access the museum. The school has also been recognised for helping to prepare its pupils for life after education, whether this be through work experience opportunities, to help them gain independence.
Also representing Orbis at the awards is Ty Trafle, which has been shortlisted for the Creative School of the Year award having been recognised for its bespoke curriculum which was been created and implemented in the school to support its pupils with trauma experiences. The curriculum, which is known as FLIGHT (friendship, life skills, independence, goals, health, and trauma), is designed to support pupils to lead independent lives when they leave school so they can fully take part in society.
We’re thrilled for both Dan y Coed and Ty Trafle on their nominations for their respected categories at the 2025 Education Awards and wish them both the best of luck.
Everyone at Orbis Education and Care will be cheering them on and are immensely proud of the dedication and hard work they show every day to support their pupils.
