Live at Orbis : Children's Residential Services

With Tŷ Coryton and Tŷ Bronllys offering both specialist schools and residential homes on the same sites, most of our young people choose to live and learn with us, benefiting from a blend of joined-up care, education and therapeutic support delivered over a 24-hour waking curriculum. Some however stay with us on a care-only, or residential-only basis, and attend education elsewhere. Residential placements in our registered children’s homes can be offered up to 52-weeks a year up to and including the age of 19.

Tŷ Coryton in Cardiff and Tŷ Bronllys in Brecon are safe and supportive environments designed specifically for children and young people with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition. Each service is set within its own extensive grounds, with access to local communities and with lots of options to get out and about.

Ty Coryton, Cardiff

Tŷ Coryton is a stunning converted mansion house located on the outskirts of Cardiff only a few miles from the city centre and very close to junction 32 of the M4 – making access from anywhere along the M4 corridor very easy. In turn we are never far from the beautiful beaches, the vibrant cities or the dramatic mountains of Wales, and all the opportunities that those environments can offer.

A short walk down the road, the suburb of Whitchurch village offers all the facilities and connections to the local community that young people could wish for.

Tŷ Coryton offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, and encourages young people to play an active part in their community.

Tŷ Bronllys, Brecon

Nestled at the foot of the Brecon Beacons National Park with stunning views of the dramatic mid-Wales landscape, Tŷ Bronllys offers an idyllic country life.

The service has a small-holding with its own goats and chickens, and an allotment where our children and young people can grow and cook their own produce. An outdoor Duke of Edinburgh Award assessment area and acres of outdoor space offer opportunities to be active on-site, whilst off-site, we enjoy canoeing, walking, rock-climbing and a wide range of pursuits.

A smaller service than Tŷ Coryton, with capacity for 9 residents, and 5 day pupils, Tŷ Bronllys has a warm, welcoming, family-feel where staff and young people alike leave their wellies by the door.
