Dan Y Coed is one of Orbis’ most recent developments, a state-of-the-art school and residential service for children and young people with complex needs associated with autism. The service is located at the historic Dan y Coed site in the West Cross area of Swansea, within a minute’s walk of the long stretches of sand that are typical of the region.
Within minutes of Swansea with its vibrant city centre, and castles, parks and hidden coastal coves and secluded bays there is a wealth of things to do in the surrounding area.
Dan y Coed opened in November 2017 and from February 2018 a newly designed permanent school opened in the main house, offering specialist education placements to more children and young people between the ages of 5 and 19 with complex needs.
From September 2018, Dan y Coed will open up its residential service, at which point it will offer full or part time, day and residential, education and care placements for either term-time only or up to 52-weeks per year.
