Exciting times for Orbis! We recently announced growth plans for the group with the addition of three new services coming on board in the coming months, creating up to 200 jobs across South Wales in Porth, Port Talbot and Presteigne!
Our young people at Ty Coryton have been immersing themselves in all things Wales this week – with St David’s Day and Eisteddford’s happening all over the place!
Jack took the opportunity to learn about Welsh culture by visiting the National Museum in Cardiff. Great work Jack!
The brilliant Oscar winning film Inside Out is proving to be a big hit with the autism community as it is helping many to make sense of their emotions and their feelings.
Told largely from inside the head of 11 year old Riley, her emotions are personified as a group of characters, each with a distinctive personality. In this article one parent says:
‘…he can now tell me what emotion he is feeling and it is helping me to understand my son’.
CUE THE TRUMPETS! CUE THE FANFARE! CUE THE DRUM-ROLL!
Volunteer of the month for February at The Orb is the one and only Ryan!
Ryan has shown excellent attendance since the Orb opened last year and works extremely hard during sessions. He really enjoys attending and has learned many new work skills including pricing up items, using the till and refreshing the stock to keep new customers coming into the shop for a nose around!
Congratulations Ryan! Great work! Well deserved!

AG joined Ty Bronlly just 10 weeks ago as a day pupil and already he has proven to be doing extremely well in school.
When he arrived he had difficulties wearing shoes and now wears them regularly. He also attends weekly swimming sessions and rock climbing as well as shopping and café trips.
He has developed a fantastic relationship with his teacher and LSAs: all highly knowledgeable trained staff, who are working extremely well together.
This post is to say a big ‘Well done’ to a fantastic young man and ‘Thank you’ to the wonderful team at Ty Bronllys.
